Why 6061 Often Starts the Structural and CNC Discussion
For general mechanical structures, equipment parts, connectors and components requiring turning, milling, drilling or tapping, 6061 is often a balanced candidate. Load, dimensions, tolerance, clamping, finish and service environment still control the decision.
Why Forming and Corrosion Needs Often Lead to 5052
When the product is sheet-based and needs bending, an enclosure, a container or stronger corrosion consideration, 5052 often enters the shortlist. Forming radius, welding, appearance, exposure and acceptance criteria still need confirmation.

There Is No Drawing-free Answer
6061 cannot replace every sheet solution simply because it suits mechanical structures, and 5052 is not right for every loaded part simply because forming and corrosion are important directions. Final selection follows the drawing, service conditions, manufacturing route and agreed requirements.
