It Can Be Machined, but Machinability Is Not the Whole Decision
7075 can be CNC machined and often enters the shortlist for high-strength structures, load-bearing components and precision parts. Being machinable does not by itself make the material suitable for the final application.
Why High-strength Parts May Consider 7075
When a design emphasizes strength, hardness direction, weight control or load carrying, 7075 may fit the design direction better than a general balanced grade. Load path, section, thin walls, holes and assembly relationships still need review.
Inputs Needed for the Machining Plan
An RFQ should provide temper, blank form, finished dimensions, critical tolerances, datums, holes, threads, finish and quantity. Parameters, clamping and operations depend on actual equipment, tooling, geometry and temper, so this page does not publish detached machining settings.
Also Review Corrosion, Finishing and Structural Design
Strength cannot replace an environmental review. Corrosion, welding, finishing, edge design, thin-wall distortion and long-term conditions can change the choice. If balanced machining, finish or general mechanical structure matters more, 6061 should remain a comparison candidate.

The final 7075 decision should combine drawing, load, temper, service conditions, machining, inspection and customer standards. Explaining why 7075 is being considered helps identify the true critical requirements.
